The majestic elk are gathered together for their annual mating season and some of the largest bull elk you will see will be bugling, strutting and protecting their harems right in front of your eyes. First you hear them bugling, then you'll have them filling the viewfinder of your camera as these great creatures are used to people and you can get close to watch the action.

In addition to the elk, bull moose will also be another animal we will go in search of along the Colorado River. Mule deer, marmots, pika and a variety of other animals and birds add to this list of subjects from which to photograph. But the main subject will be elk and even more elk.

Add the spectacular mountain landscapes and you have the makings of an unforgetable photographic adventure.

High mountain lakes provide a nice foreground for some great landscape photography and provide the water for several waterfalls and cascades.

Be sure to bring all your lenses for this trip as a little bit of everything can be found.
