Basing in Boone, NC, the fall color along the parkway in this area is one of the best locales in the country to photograph this blanket of color. Sunrise atop Roan Mountain on the Tennessee / North Carolina border will show the true meaning of valley fog. Back roads exploring also has some old barns and other sights to photograph.

Besides stopping at popular Blue Ridge Parkway stops such as Price Lake, Brinegar Barn and several others, we'll head down some back roads where streams, waterfalls and barns can be found.

If the weather cooperates we'll get up early one morning for a drive to the North Carolina - Tennessee border for sunrise atop Roan Mountain. The view is worth the trip as the view of mountain ridge after mountain ridge with fog in the valley's is one you'll surely enjoy.

We'll take a day-long trip and visit Mabry Mill on the Virginia side of the Parkway. The buildings remain the same as they were 100 years ago and the shot of the mill is one many people enjoy seeing.
