August 10 - 16 Bears of Alaska Photo Workshop FULL - TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR 2009 |
$3,995 Flight Destination: Anchorage, AK |
Within the boundaries of Katmai National Park at Hallo Bay we will find some great Alaska brown bear photography. The salmon will be running and the bears will be in the water chasing after them as well as providing some great behavior in other settings. In addition to the bears, there is also a chance of seeing and photographing wolves and moose in the area. In 2007, one wolf came right up to a group of photographers and laid down near them while five others sat 50 feet away and other wolves were spotted on numerous occasions. |
The trip begins on the night of August 9th in Anchorage so we can head out the next morning for a drive to Homer with shooting along the way. We will fly out of Homer on the morning of the 11th to the camp at Hallo Bay. We'll spend five days and four nights at the camp with a return flight to Homer on the 15th. We'll then drive back to Anchorage with shooting along the way for evening departures out of Anchorage on the 16th. The flight between Homer and the camp is worth keeing a camera out for. Regardless of whether the flight is over McNeil River and across the giant Four Peak Glacier or along the Pacific Coast and Augustine Volcano you'll be held in awe of the magnificent panorama throughout the flight. | |
Multiple
loctions from the main camp allow for photographing bears in different settings.
We will walk to the different spots each day so you should know that walking is
required unlike at some other bear viewing camps. |
